"I am the 2nd in charge in the council to support the president 😃 Help oversee adhocs such as FOP, Bash and CIP. Being in the previous hall council, I felt like we were able to make some changes within the hall, hence I wanted to do the same this year. Even though it is tough being in council, I feel like it is equally fulfilling 😆 This year, it hasn't been that easy with Covid-19 around 😓. Since guidelines are constantly changing, we will also have to adapt when we plan for events. But do trust that we are doing our best for the hall and its residents despite facing these obstacles."

"I manage anything financial related regarding hall and its activities. I joined council to make new friends and get more involved in the place we spend most of our time in! Being in council comes with lots of responsibility but also loads of fun! Been enjoying myself and am looking forward to the sem ahead :)"

TANYABUSINESS MANAGER
"As a business manager, I have to source and liaise with potential sponsors for Hall 15 so that residents can enjoy all dem freebies. I'm mainly in charge of the welfare packs apart from the other activities we have in hall. If you see me around, don't hesitate to say hi or hit me up if there are certain sponsors/products you'd like to see! I joined council because I wanted residents and myself to have a good experience staying in hall and something to call home. Moreover, being a business student who absolutely loves communicating, I felt the role of a Business Manager was the most ideal for me. Apart from juggling between academics and CCA, my journey as a council member has been goooood. I've made many friends and having prior personal connections definitely eased my job. And of course, I'm loving the FREE STUFF (who doesn't HAHAHA) 🤤"

I joined council because i wanted to put my time and effort while im in hall to something meaningful. I enjoy meeting new people and making the residents’ stay comfortable and happy! It has been difficult given Covid-19 and the new safety measures but with the help of my council mates and my wonderful subcommittee members, it has been a joyful ride so far! :)"

AKSHAYSOCIAL SECRETARY
"We plan fun events for hall residents to chill like back to school, halloween and cny! I joined council as I hoped to contribute to making hall life a little bit more exciting especially since things have been gloomy recently :-) It’s been hard work but fun and here’s to hoping we can have more fun activities soon!"
JUN KIATSOCIAL SECRETARY
"As the social secretary, I'm in charge of planning events in our hall, such as Halloween! I am also part of the IHCC committee which organises the annual cheer competition amongst the NTU Halls. JUN SHENGPUBLICITY SECRETARY
"As publicity sec, basically everything relating to hall media and branding goes through me. On top of that, I'm the hall's representative in the Hall Olympiad Committee! I joined council for the friends and memories mostly HAHAHA I mean we only have 4 years in NTU before we slave away forever so might as well make use of this time :') P&P just because I love designing/drawing (hit @meetmito up sometime!) In the past semester alone, I've had to create designs for hall merchandise, event posters, and direct our hall's video productions. Very tiring, but at the same time kinda fulfilling(?) Definitely very satisfied when I finish any new designs."
MELANIEPUBLICATIONS SECRETARY
"As the publications secretary, I handle the logistical side to P&P, as well as planning for photobooths and our other ventures!! (check out our igtv videos uwu) Honestly I joined council because I wanted to be part of a community where I could work together as part of a team of bonded people to make hall life better for everybody!! plus being in WKW means that media is literally my expertise 😫🤧 it’s been real busy at times trying to cope with all the deadlines and school on top of council, but it’s rewarding when i get to see the end result of all our hard work."

krisSPORTS SECRETARY
"I work with my captains to hold trainings for the various sport we offer in Hall 15. If there was IHG this year, i would also be facilitating the whole process so that my players can focus on their games. I joined council as i wanted to be part of a larger community and contribute to my hall. As i will be in hall during the majority of my semesters, why not i have some fun while getting to know more people? Council has been great so far, the people are flexible and easy to work with, the company is great. Also met a ton of cool people in hall and hopefully i can build on those friendships."
TZEH LENGSPORTS SECRETARY
"I help to organise the sports teams and be part of organising IHG (Interhall Games) I wanted to try out a leadership role for once, and sports was also something I really enjoyed, so i thought that sports secretary was a perfect choice. Sadly, IHG got cancelled so I don’t have much to do regarding IHG. Instead, I help out around the other roles like socials and recs when they need manpower! but council is kinda fun too because i get to meet many residents and make new friends haha"

deionnaRECREATIONAL SECRETARY
"We work together with rec in-charges to hold rec games training + encourage people to join rec games in hall (for fun + to train for IHRG as well). also we work together with JHRC to organise IHRG. I really enjoy playing rec games so i wanted to run for rec sec to spread the love for rec games in hall 15 and encourage my hallmates to learn and play the different rec games. It has been enjoyable as i got to meet and bond with many of our rec game players during trainings and when we played for IHRG as a team!"
laraRECREATIONAL SECRETARY
"My role involves working with rec ICs to organise trainings, helping to organise annual IHRG with the jhrc, getting residents to be more involved in rec games. I joined council to be more involved in hall and develop leadership skills. So far, it's been great!! council really is a gr8 bunch of people and am thankful to have met everyone heh. Also recently through IHRG, I got to know the ICs better which I am happy about too :)) the various IHRG players have also been really fun to hang out with so no regrets!!"

andersPRESIDENT, SEM 1
"Hmm where do I begin? Looking back at my time with the 20th, I'd say that things are quite different now, compared to the same time last year. Instead of having to attract as many residents as possible to come down for our hall events, we now have to restrict our gatherings and hold dispersed or online events. Instead of bash and og lunches, we now have strict safe distancing measures and stricter security guards.
Even as these odds were against us, I still think our hall did pretty okay. These restrictions made us rethink about our priorities and allowed us to experiment with new ideas that would have otherwise not been considered. We are also taking this opportunity to replace the old equipment with new ones, to create more opportunities for our residents to use our facilities and interact in hall. I'm really thankful for the 20th, who will entertain all my silly ideas throughout the semester. I hope you guys will continue to exceed expectations under Jun Liang, and maybe one day, Hall XV will be a popular hall." |
